Temporary Fund

This is for owners of medium-scale corporates and private businesses which scored sales reduction by over 50% due to the State of Emergency Declaration in January 2021.

This is for small and medium-sized enterprises that are willing to undertake drastic business restructuring, such as venturing into new fields, change in business category, change in business or industry, business restructuring or expansion of scale through these efforts.

This financial aid is for enterprises affected by the COVID-19 aimed at sustaining their businesses.

Subsidy for Elementary School Closure

Employers can get this aid if you allow employees to take paid leaves in order to take care of their children due to the school closure. The application deadline is on 1) March 31st 2021 for the paid leaves taken in the period of October 1st 2020 to December 31st 2020, or on 2) June 30th 2021 for the paid leaves taken in the period of January 1st 2021 to March 31st 2021.

Special Loan for COVID-19 by Japan Finance Corporation and Okinawa Promotion Development Finance Corporation

This aid is for business owners who temporarily deteriorate due to COVID-19, but who are expected to recover and develop in the medium to long term.

Grace period for social insurance payment

This aid is for business owners who extremely deteriorate due to COVID-19. You can postpone the payment of pension by 1 year without any default interest.

Monthly Support (Getsuji-shienkin / 月次支援金)

The support is available for small to middle scale bunnies owners and self-employers whose sales have decreased by over 50% compared to the same month in 2019 or 2020 due to the government measures of State of Emergency Declaration (Kinkyu-jitai-sengen) or Preventive Measures (Man’en-boshi-sochi). The support is up to JPY 200,000 / month for small to middle scale businesses and up to JPY 100,000 / month for private businesses.

Special Benefit for Low-income Households with a Child/children

If you are either a recipient of child-support allowance (low-income single-parent household), or residential tax exempt household with a child/children, you are eligible for the benefit amounting JPY 50,000 per child.

Temporary Loan Emergency Funds (Emergency Small Amount Funds & General Support Funds)

There are two types of funds in Temporary Loan Emergency Funds: Emergency Small Amount Funds & General Support Funds. The former is for households facing temporary stoppage of work, and the latter is for households with the Covid-related unemployed.
The number of households eligible for the loans under this system will be expanded to include non-low-income households struggling for their living expenses as a result of temporary stoppage of work or unemployment.  ※The deadline for the first and second application has been extended to the end of June 2021. The Support Fund and Allowance for the Leave Forced to be Taken under the COVID-19 Outbreak

If you are forced to take a day off by employees due to COVID-19 from April 1st 2020 to 30th 2020 (※the deadlines have been extended according to the size of companies. See below or contact us for details), and meet the following two main conditions, you will be paid 80% of the wage before taking the leave.
1) Employees of small and medium sized companies who were/are on leave during the period mentioned above due to the instruction of the employer.
2) Those who have not been paid their wages (or leave allowance) for the leave mentioned in 1).

Injury and Sickness Allowance

This system provides income security to those insured by health insurance, etc., who are absent from work for over three days for medical treatment of illness or injury caused by reasons other than work-related accidents. Those who are infected with the coronavirus infection and are unable to work due to medical treatment are also eligible.

Leave allowance (Article 26 of the Labor Standards Law)

According to Article 26 of the Labor Standards Law, when a company takes a worker temporarily out of work, for reasons for which the company is responsible, the company must pay the worker a leave allowance during the leave period in order to ensure the worker’s minimum standard of living.
Amount: At least 60/100 of the average wage (the total amount of wages paid to the worker during the three months prior to the day of absence, divided by the total number of days during that period※)
※If wages are paid on an hourly basis, daily basis, or piece-rate basis, there is a minimum guarantee amount.

Leave Support and Benefit in Response to Covid-19

Workers who were forced to take a leave of absence due to the effects of Covid-19 and who were not able to receive a leave of absence allowance will receive a leave of absence support payment or benefit for Covid-19.
Amount: 80% of the wages before the leave (upper limit of JPY 11,000 per day)
