◆ Such programs change rapidly and many of the systems are explained in Japanese, and documents for application must be prepared in Japanese. Financial aid provided by the government

(1) For Business Owners

● Most of the support provided by the government is provided by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. However, the website of the Ministry has only Japanese and English and all application documents must be prepared in Japanese. If you are in trouble, such as those who do not understand the explanation of the website, who are eligible, how much you can get, or how to apply, please contact us once. We will help you with your application.

Subsidy Program for Sustaining Business

This financial aid is for enterprises who are affected by the COVID-19 in order to sustain the business. The new system of application is begun from 1st September.

※You can receive the aid only once.

Support money corresponding to elementary school closures by new-style COVID-19

Employers can get this aid if you have to allow that employees take paid holiday in order to care their children due to closure of a school. The coverage period is until 31 December 2020. At the same time, employers should adopt the paid holiday system in order that guardians can take a day off whenever they need.

Rent support benefits

This aid is for business owners who have difficulties to pay rent due to reduction proceeds effected by COVID-19. You need to meet the following 3 conditions (see For More Details).

Special loan for CIVID-19 provided by Japan Finance Corporation and Okinawa Promotion Development Finance Corporation

This aid is for business owners who temporarily deteriorate due to COVID-19, but who are expected to recover and develop in the medium to long term. ※The application process are done on the website in Japanese. If you have any difficulties, please contact us, so we will support you.

Grace period for social insurance payment

This aid is for business owners who extremely deteriorate due to COVID-19. You can postpone to pay penstion for 1 year without any default interest. ※The application process are done on the website in Japanese. If you have any difficulties, please contact us, so we will support you.

(2)For Individuals

Grace period for social insurance payment etc

If you are in hard to pay pension, insurance, tax, and utility bills etc, you can apply to exemption or extension to pay.

The support fund and allowance for the leace forced to be taken unde the COVID-19 outbreak

If you are forced to take a day off by employees due to COVID-19 from 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2020, and you meet the following 2 main conditions (see For More Details), you will be paid 80% of the wage.

Cash payout to Secure Housing for rent

This is for those who are difficult to pay the rent for thier house due to COVID-19.

Employment Adjustment Subsidy (special measures)

If an employer reduces business activity as a result of effects from the novel COVID-19, and attempts to maintain employment of workers by granting paid leave, educational training, or secondment, the cost incurred will be subsidized.

Temporary Loan Emergency Funds

In light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of households that are eligible for loans under this system will be expanded to include non-low-income households. Special loans such as emergency small amount funds will be provided to households that are struggling for their living expenses as a result of temporary stoppage of work or unemployment.

Emergency Student Support Handout for Continuing Studies

● This aid is for all students in university or other educational institutions in Japan who face difficulties continuing their studies due to the COVID-19.

● Although recipients must fulfill criteria, such as not living at home and covering tuition with resources such as part-time work, or losing a significant amount of income due to COVID-19.
